Camping Alta Ribagorça

After a good ride across half the Spanish Pyrenees range, we decided to make camp and came across this lovely site near the junction of the N-230/N-260, ‘Camping Alta Ribagorça’.
Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by our host Ana, who effortlessly switched from her native Spanish to English when discovering our Espanol is much to be desired.
The site was clean with level firm pitches, a little challenging to peg out but nothing a big hammer couldn’t sort.
Facilities were clean and well stocked, the pool was inviting but with no bathing shorts I resisted the urge to go for a dip.
We decided to have our evening meal on-site in their own restaurant. Ana and her team created a lovely 3-course set menu meal brought out in good time of finishing the previous. One of Kelly’s highlights was the extremely nice and cheap wine which you purchase by the bottle for the price of a thimbleful back home.
Ana is an animal lover and the site is definitely pet friendly, just be aware the site has several resident cats who patrol the site all day and night. She is also a lover of adventure, travel, art, and spiritual lifestyle which shows all over the site with a unique style that is interesting and pleasing to the eye and relaxing music playing all day around the main buildings.
All in all this is the epitome of what a site should be, a real “come as a guest, leave as a friend” place that all other grounds could benefit from.
Value for money doesn’t need to be cheap, low cost should never be poor quality. This is neither and it shows when we seriously considered staying longer despite the urge to get more travelling done. We will return 1 day if you’ll have us, Ana? ❤️
