Waking up in the darkness is always a strange feeling,
Our room in the Riad has no window but there was an extremely high ceiling,
Ready to leave relatively early & continue south,
But our host offered morning coffee to quench our mouth,
Finally away but now in the midday sun,
Getting out the busy city is a bit squeaky bum,
Traffic from every angle, wrong way & running red lights,
But we survived unscathed heading towards the mountain sights,
The roads were mostly wide smooth and uninteresting,
Thankfully the scenery in each direction was attention-getting,
Many animals spending their time at the roadside surviving or just relaxing,
Sheep, Dogs, Horses, Donkeys & even Monkeys using humans for food by coaxing,
After several hours we decided we should find somewhere to stay,
Then two miles later a campsite suddenly appeared with tourists at play,
Spanish, German, Swiss, Polish & even Australians visiting,
A place full of life before the desert for us to be appreciating,
